Greenheart Solar

Combining thoughtful design with modern technologies can significantly reduce the amount of additional energy you need for both lighting and heating.

Greenheart is a specialist installer of the latest alternative, low carbon and carbon free energy systems. We are MCS accredited for both solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal systems and have first-hand experience of installing many types of renewable energy systems, including Ground Source Heat Pumps, log and pellet biomass boilers and rainwater harvesting and grey water recycling systems.

Electricity
Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems convert energy from the sun in to zero carbon electricity for lighting and other domestic appliances. The energy created can be stored in a battery bank or connected to the national grid. PV cells need only daylight, not direct sunlight and can create energy even when the sun slips behind a cloud. Solar cells contain no moving parts, making them low maintenance and durable.

Hot water
Solar thermal panels use the sun’s energy to heat water, which circulates to heat the water in a storage tank, providing for up to 70% of the hot water in an average home. The tank can also be fed by another heat source such as a biomass boiler, to cover times when sunshine is in shorter supply. Solar heated water can also be used to reduce the energy requirement on some combi boilers that accept pre-heated water.

Whether you are involved in a new build project or looking to reduce your energy consumption in an existing building, Greenheart has both the technical and installation know-how to design, source and fit the most appropriate energy saving solutions.
